faders
Mixing board sliders
Faders are sliding controls on audio mixing equipment that adjust volume levels.
Each fader corresponds to a channel—moving it up increases the signal, down decreases it.
The term extends to any sliding control mechanism: She pushed up the faders on the drum tracks.
In casual use, faders can mean the tapered haircut style where hair gradually shortens toward the neck.
