extra point
Kicker's routine score
In American football, the extra point is the one-point kick attempted after a touchdown.
The ball is placed at the opponent's two- or three-yard line, and the kicker tries to send it through the uprights.
Though once nearly automatic, rule changes have made it slightly more challenging.
Also called the point after touchdown or PAT.
