endplate

Boundary of cylinder

An endplate is a structure at the end of something, forming a boundary or junction.

In anatomy, the motor endplate is where a nerve fiber meets a muscle fiber, transmitting signals that trigger contraction.

Vertebral endplates are the flat surfaces capping the top and bottom of spinal discs.

In engineering, endplates cap tubes or structural members.
