endings

Where stories conclude

Endings are the concluding portions of stories, events, or periods of time: The movie's ending surprised everyone.

In grammar, an ending is a suffix that changes a word's form—the -ed that marks past tense, the -s that marks plural.

Nerve endings are the terminal points where sensory nerves detect stimuli.

Happy endings resolve satisfyingly; unhappy ones don't.
