egg bank

Frozen fertility storage

An egg bank is a facility that collects, freezes, and stores human eggs (oocytes) for later use in fertility treatments.

Unlike sperm banks, egg banks are relatively recent, since egg freezing technology only became reliable in the 2010s.

Women may donate eggs to a bank or store their own for future pregnancies: She froze her eggs at an egg bank before starting chemotherapy.
