dukedoms
Realms of dukes
Dukedoms are the territories, titles, or ranks of dukes.
A dukedom may refer to the land a duke governs or simply to the title itself: The dukedom passed to his eldest son.
In historical contexts, dukedoms were substantial political entities; today they exist mainly as hereditary honors in monarchies like Britain's.
