Dogtags are metal identification tags worn around the neck by military personnel, stamped with name, serial number, blood type, and other vital information.
The tags help identify soldiers who are wounded or killed in combat.
The term extends to any similar identification tag: The gym requires members to scan their dogtags at the entrance.
