division title
Seasonal conference prize
A division title is the championship of a division within a sports league, awarded to the team with the best regular-season record in that group: The Yankees clinched the AL East division title.
Winning a division title typically guarantees a playoff berth and may provide home-field advantage.
In leagues without divisions, the term doesn't apply.
