dihydrogen
Molecular hydrogen gas
Dihydrogen is the technical chemical term for molecular hydrogen (H₂)—two hydrogen atoms bonded together.
The prefix distinguishes it from a single hydrogen atom.
The term appears mainly in scientific contexts: dihydrogen monoxide is the systematic name for water.
Outside chemistry, dihydrogen rarely appears.
