digging fork
Soil loosening tool
A digging fork is a garden tool with a handle and typically four sturdy metal tines, used for turning soil, breaking up clumps, and loosening earth around plants.
Unlike a pitchfork, which has thinner tines for moving loose material like hay, a digging fork is built heavier for penetrating compacted ground: I used the digging fork to work compost into the beds.
