datapoint
One statistical observation
A datapoint is a single piece of information within a larger set—one measurement, observation, or value that contributes to analysis or argument.
In statistics and research, datapoints are the individual entries from which patterns emerge: We need more datapoints before drawing conclusions.
The term has spread to everyday speech, where any specific example or piece of evidence becomes a datapoint: That's just one datapoint, but it's worth noting.
