crossway

Where paths meet

A crossway is a place where paths or roads intersect—essentially a crossroads.

The word is somewhat old-fashioned, appearing more often in literary or historical contexts than in everyday speech: They met at the crossway where the old farm road crossed the highway.

The plural crossways can also function as an adverb meaning crosswise or diagonally.
