bridleway

Equestrian right-of-way

A bridleway is a path or track designated for horse riding, walking, and cycling, but not motor vehicles.

Common in Britain, bridleways are typically rural routes through countryside: The bridleway crossed three farms before reaching the village.

The name comes from bridle, the headgear used to control a horse.
