crepuscular rays

Light through clouds

Crepuscular rays are the beams of sunlight that appear to radiate from a point in the sky, made visible by atmospheric haze, dust, or clouds that partially block the light.

They're most dramatic at dawn or dusk when the sun sits low on the horizon: Crepuscular rays streamed through gaps in the storm clouds.

The effect is sometimes called "god rays" or "sunbeams."
