kosher dills

Jewish deli pickles

Kosher dills are pickled cucumbers made in the traditional Jewish style—brined with garlic, dill, and salt rather than vinegar.

The "kosher" refers to the preparation method popularized by Jewish pickle makers in New York, not necessarily to rabbinical certification: I'll have a kosher dill on the side.

They're crisper and more garlicky than bread-and-butter pickles.
