Copium is internet slang for the imaginary substance people consume when clinging to false hope or making excuses after disappointment.
A blend of "cope" and "opium," it suggests someone is numbing themselves to reality rather than accepting an unfavorable outcome: He's huffing copium if he thinks they'll get back together.
