congressional districts
Representative election areas
Congressional districts are geographic divisions of a U.S. state, each represented by one member in the House of Representatives.
States receive districts based on population, redrawn after each census.
District boundaries are notoriously subject to gerrymandering—manipulation to favor one political party: The congressional district stretched in a narrow band across three counties.
