civilizer
One who domesticates
A civilizer is a person, force, or influence that brings civilization or refinement to a place or people, often implying the imposition of one culture's standards onto another.
The term carries colonial and imperialist baggage, as European powers historically justified conquest by casting themselves as civilizers of "primitive" peoples.
In modern usage it often appears in scare quotes or with ironic intent: The so-called civilizers brought disease and displacement along with their railroads.
