catchments
Water gathering areas
Catchments are areas that collect something, most often water.
A river's catchment (or catchment area) is the region from which rainfall drains into it.
The term extends to service areas: a hospital's catchment is the geographic zone it serves, a school's catchment determines which students may attend.
Properties in the school's catchment command higher prices.
