A cantina is a bar or tavern, especially in Mexico or the American Southwest.
The word evokes a rustic drinking establishment: We stopped at a cantina for cold beers and tacos.
In the *Star Wars* universe, the Mos Eisley cantina became iconic—a seedy spaceport bar full of aliens.
Cantina can also mean a canteen or simple eatery.
