cable-stayed

Diagonal wires support

Cable-stayed describes a type of bridge where the deck is supported by cables running directly from one or more towers to the roadway.

Unlike suspension bridges, where cables hang in curves between towers, cable-stayed bridges have straight cables radiating from the tower like the spokes of a fan: The cable-stayed bridge spans the harbor with elegant simplicity.
