bullfighters

Cape-wielding arena performers

Bullfighters are people who face bulls in the ritualized combat of bullfighting, traditionally in Spain, Portugal, and Latin America.

The matador is the principal bullfighter who kills the bull; others on foot (banderilleros) and horseback (picadors) assist.

The term extends to anyone who confronts danger with theatrical flair: He fancied himself a bullfighter in the boardroom.
