bronc riding
Cowboy rodeo sport
Bronc riding is a rodeo event in which a cowboy attempts to stay mounted on a bucking horse for eight seconds.
In saddle bronc riding, the rider uses a specialized saddle and holds a braided rein; in bareback bronc riding, the rider grips only a leather rigging.
Judges score both the rider's form and the horse's bucking intensity.
He competed in bronc riding at the state fair.
