brushland
Low woody vegetation
Brushland is terrain covered with shrubs, small trees, and other low woody vegetation rather than forests or grasslands.
It typically features dense thickets of bushes that may be difficult to navigate on foot.
Such areas often occur in arid or semi-arid regions, or in places where forests have been cleared or burned and are in early stages of regrowth.
The trail wound through miles of dry brushland before reaching the canyon.
