wilds
Far from civilization
Wilds refers to remote, uncultivated, or uninhabited regions where nature remains largely untouched by human development.
The word appears almost exclusively in the plural and typically follows "the": They spent a month trekking through the wilds of Alaska.
It often carries connotations of adventure, danger, or escape from civilization.
Figuratively, wilds can describe any unfamiliar or chaotic territory: navigating the wilds of the internet.
