brontosaurs
Long-necked herbivores
Brontosaurs is the plural of brontosaurus, a massive plant-eating dinosaur with a long neck and tail that lived during the Jurassic period.
The name means "thunder lizard." Scientists later determined that brontosaurus was the same species as the earlier-named apatosaurus, though brontosaurus persists in popular imagination: Kids love brontosaurs and T. rexes.
