brazes

Joins with heat

Brazes is the verb form of braze, meaning to join metal pieces using a filler metal melted at high temperature—similar to soldering but with stronger bonds and higher heat.

The technique is common in plumbing, metalwork, and manufacturing: She brazes copper fittings for a living.

Distinct from welding, which melts the base metals themselves.
