ask price
What sellers want
The ask price is the lowest price a seller is willing to accept for a security, commodity, or other asset.
In trading, it represents one half of a bid-ask spread—the bid being what buyers offer, the ask being what sellers want.
When you buy stock at market price, you typically pay the ask price.
The ask price on those shares jumped after the earnings report.
