eurobonds

Foreign-currency debt instruments

Eurobonds are bonds issued in a currency different from that of the country where they're sold—a dollar-denominated bond sold in Europe, for instance.

The prefix euro- reflects European origins but now applies globally.

Separately, Eurobonds (one word, capitalized) names a proposed system of shared debt among European Union member states, controversial because it would pool fiscal responsibility across countries with different economic conditions.
