bloodmeal
Nitrogen-rich soil amendment
Bloodmeal is dried animal blood used as a high-nitrogen fertilizer or protein supplement in animal feed.
Gardeners work it into soil to promote leafy growth: I added bloodmeal around the tomatoes.
It can also deter certain garden pests like rabbits and deer.
Usually spelled as two words: blood meal.
