green-up
Landscape turning verdant
Green-up is the springtime period when vegetation turns green again after winter dormancy.
The term is common among ecologists, hunters, and anyone who tracks seasonal changes in the landscape: The deer will move to higher elevations after green-up.
As a verb, to green up means to become green with new growth: The pastures are finally greening up.
