Surfer's swim trunks
Board shorts are loose-fitting knee-length shorts designed for water sports, originally surfing.
They typically have a drawstring waist, quick-drying fabric, and no inner lining.
The name comes from their association with surfboards.
Unlike swim trunks, board shorts work equally well as casual wear: He wore board shorts all summer, whether surfing or just hanging out.
