bent over row

Hinged torso pull

A bent over row is a weight training exercise where you bend forward at the waist, keeping your back straight, and pull a barbell or dumbbells toward your torso.

The movement targets the back muscles, particularly the lats and rhomboids: I do bent over rows twice a week to build my back.

Also called barbell row when performed with a barbell.
