beltline
Midsection perimeter line
The beltline is the waistline of the human body, or the part of a garment that sits at that level: The skirt hits right at the beltline.
In automotive design, the beltline is the horizontal line formed by the bottom edge of a car's windows, running around the vehicle's body.
In urban contexts, a beltline is a ring road or transit corridor encircling a city's core—Atlanta's BeltLine being the most prominent example, a redevelopment project converting old rail lines into trails and parks.
