bear off
Take from board
Bear off means to carry away or remove something from a place, often with a sense of taking a prize or rescuing: The knight bore off the trophy.
In sailing, to bear off is to turn the bow away from the wind.
In backgammon, bearing off is the final stage of the game—removing your checkers from the board once they've all reached your home quadrant.
