back muscles
Spine's support system
The back muscles are the muscles of the posterior torso, running from the base of the skull to the pelvis.
They include the large latissimus dorsi and trapezius near the surface, and deeper muscles along the spine.
Back muscles support posture, enable pulling and lifting, and stabilize the trunk: I pulled a back muscle moving furniture.
