auntie
Mother's sister, informally
Auntie is an informal or affectionate form of aunt, used especially by children or when addressing one's aunt directly: Can I have another cookie, Auntie?
The term extends beyond blood relatives to familiar older women in a child's life, such as close family friends.
In some cultures, particularly South Asian and African communities, auntie is a respectful form of address for any older woman, regardless of relation.
