lah
Sixth sung note
Lah is a particle common in Singaporean and Malaysian English, added to the end of sentences for emphasis, softening, or casual friendliness: Don't worry lah, Can lah, No problem lah.
It derives from Chinese and Malay languages and signals informal speech.
The particle carries no fixed meaning but adjusts tone—making statements sound more relaxed, persuasive, or affectionate depending on context.
