Aunt Flo
Crimson tide, colloquially
Aunt Flo is a euphemism for menstruation or a woman's menstrual period.
The name personifies the monthly cycle as a visiting relative: Aunt Flo is in town, Aunt Flo came early this month.
The euphemism allows oblique reference to menstruation in mixed company or situations where directness feels awkward.
