Informal autism term
Aspie is informal slang for a person with Asperger's syndrome, a form of autism characterized by difficulty with social interaction and nonverbal communication, often alongside intense focus on specific interests.
The term is used both as self-identification within the autistic community and by others: As an aspie, I've learned to navigate social situations differently.
Some find it affectionate; others consider it reductive.
