Asperger syndrome

Social processing difference

Asperger syndrome is a developmental condition characterized by difficulties with social interaction and nonverbal communication, often accompanied by intense, focused interests and repetitive behaviors.

Unlike other forms of autism, it involves no significant delay in language or cognitive development.

The diagnosis was folded into autism spectrum disorder in 2013, though many still identify with the term: He was diagnosed with Asperger's as a teenager.

Also called Asperger's.
