French administrative zone
An arrondissement is an administrative district in France and some other French-speaking countries.
Paris is divided into twenty arrondissements, numbered in a spiral from the center outward: She lives in the 6th arrondissement.
The term also applies to subdivisions of French departments and to districts in other former French territories.
