anticommunists

Foes of Marxism

Anticommunists are people who oppose communism as a political system or ideology.

The term covers a wide spectrum—from democratic socialists rejecting Soviet-style governance to far-right movements using anticommunism to justify authoritarian measures.

During the Cold War, anticommunist sentiment shaped foreign policy and domestic politics across the West: McCarthyism targeted suspected anticommunists in Hollywood and government.

The label can be neutral or carry connotations depending on context.
