anti-blackness
Bias against Africans
Anti-blackness refers to prejudice, discrimination, and hostility directed specifically toward Black people.
The term emerged from critical race discourse to name a particular form of racism that positions Black people at the bottom of racial hierarchies, affecting everything from interpersonal treatment to institutional policies.
Unlike broader terms for racism, anti-blackness emphasizes how anti-Black attitudes can exist even within other marginalized communities.
The report examined anti-blackness in hiring practices across multiple industries.
