Electrically treated aluminum
Anodised is the British spelling of anodized, describing metal—usually aluminium—that has undergone an electrochemical process to create a protective oxide layer.
The coating resists corrosion and scratching, and can hold dyes for colour: anodised aluminium cookware, the anodised finish on the laptop case.
Common in manufacturing and consumer products.
