Hearth metal stand
An andiron is one of a pair of metal supports for holding logs in a fireplace.
Typically made of iron or brass, andirons have a horizontal bar to cradle the wood and a decorative upright at the front.
Also called a firedog: The brass andirons gleamed in the firelight.
