amanitas
Deadly cap mushrooms
Amanitas are mushrooms of the genus *Amanita*, which includes some of the most toxic fungi known.
The death cap and destroying angel belong to this group and can be fatal if eaten.
Some amanitas are edible, but foragers treat the entire genus with extreme caution because misidentification can kill: The field guide warned against all amanitas.
