Zululand

Historic Natal region

Zululand is a historical region in northeastern South Africa, traditionally the homeland of the Zulu people.

It was an independent kingdom in the 19th century before becoming a British colony and later being incorporated into the province of KwaZulu-Natal.

The area is known for its significance in Zulu history and culture, including the Anglo-Zulu War of 1879.

We visited the battlefields of Zululand on our trip through South Africa.
