stimulus package
Government spending injection
A stimulus package is a set of government measures—typically tax cuts, spending increases, or direct payments—designed to boost economic activity during a downturn.
The term became widely familiar during the 2008 financial crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic, when governments issued checks directly to citizens: Congress passed a two-trillion-dollar stimulus package.
