Union Pacific Railroad

Western rail giant

Union Pacific Railroad is one of the oldest and largest freight railroad companies in the United States, operating an extensive network across the western two-thirds of the country.

Founded in 1862, it was central to building the first transcontinental railroad, meeting the Central Pacific at Promontory Summit in 1869.

Often shortened to Union Pacific or UP: Union Pacific hauled most of the grain out of Nebraska.
